How to Sign a PDF Online Without Printing It

Published 2026-10-28

The drawn visual signature

You draw your signature with a mouse or finger and it is placed on the page as an image. It suits forms and contracts that do not require formal certification, and saves you printing and scanning.

The steps

Open Sign PDF, add your file, draw your signature in the box, enter a page number or type "all" to sign every page, choose its position and download the signed file. Your signature is not stored and stays in your browser only.

How it differs from a certified digital signature

A certified digital signature relies on a digital certificate that proves the signer identity and reveals later edits. A visual signature does not offer that, so check the requirements of whoever will receive the file.

Finishing touches

Before signing you can number pages with Add Page Numbers, and add a mark such as "Review copy" with Watermark PDF so versions do not get mixed up.
