Millions of users around the world depend on the WooCommerce add-on to create their own online stores. This add-on turns a regular WordPress site into an integrated online store. WooCommerce stores built on WordPress benefit from add-ons just like traditional websites. There is no doubt that these add-ons open new horizons for what can be done. It is up to the store owner to achieve it.
WooCommerce stores can be described as one of the best types of online stores currently available, and most of us are probably aware of that. What makes it so is that it is completely owned by the user and is not created based on companies providing that service, and the multiple add-ons available to these stores provide solutions to various problems faced by store owners in general, and among these problems is the difficulty of pricing the product at more than one price depending on the quality of the user. And the degree he possesses.

Set different prices for the same product on WooCommerce
Some online stores have a large variety of products, and this diversity applies not only to products, but also to types of customers, so the store owner may often need to provide a specific selling price for each segment of shoppers.
This process is known as Tiered Pricing and it has this name because each category of users may see a different price based on several elements and parameters.
The WooCommerce platform does not support category pricing by default, despite the importance of this feature for many, and its great role in providing a distinctive user experience for readers, but by relying on the appropriate additions we can get this feature to work perfectly within WooCommerce, but first we have to get to know it. More deeply.
Why would you need to set more than one price for the same product?
Some sales and marketing strategies require setting more than one price for the same product, but it is common for this method to aim for wholesale sales or huge discounts, which is referred to as Wholesale in English.
Using the appropriate tools, you can offer a different price for the same product based on the type of customer. For example, you can sell the same product at a reduced price from the main price to a certain type of customer, while you can offer the product at a higher price to a customer that you think may pay the difference, as is the case. Shown in the following picture:
From here we understand that categorical pricing can be used for many goals, including marketing and sales goals, improving the user experience, and also increasing the loyalty of a specific segment of users through continuous offers and discounts. This is done by setting different pricing based on the type of buyer or even the quantity to be purchased.

Marketing and sales benefit
As we mentioned in the previous points, there are different benefits from the features of categorical pricing or selling at discounts, whether depending on determinants such as the type and class of the customer, or even the number of pieces that he will buy from each point, but there are many marketing and sales benefits, which we explain and review together in The following points:
- When you use this method, you can always surprise different segments of users on your online store with special discounts and offers according to your operating method.
- Because you offer discounts and offers based on user segments, this may encourage shoppers to register an account with your online store, which increases the likelihood of purchasing and the number of times a customer visits your store.
- The possibility of maximizing sales of products that are not sold in large quantities by offering discounts when purchasing a large number of them.
- Benefiting from the fact that your store offers discounts on an ongoing basis in your marketing operations, there is no doubt that the user loves discounts in its various forms.

Set different prices for the same product
We talked in the previous points about the concept of varying product prices for users, in addition to knowing the reasons that might lead you to rely on this method, and now we are talking about how to implement this feature on your WooCommerce store, since this feature is not available by default as mentioned above.
As is the case with any new feature added to WordPress or WooCommerce, there are dozens of free and paid add-ons to provide this feature, but in this article we will rely on the WooCommerce Wholesale Suite add-on.
Hiring Wholesale Suite
Start by installing the WooCommerce Wholesale Suite add -on on your WooCommerce store. In order to do this, you have two methods. The first method is to download the add-on from its official website from the link indicated above, then go to your store’s control panel, then go to Add-ons, and then Add New. , and click on upload add:
All you have to do is wait for the upload process to complete and then activate the add-on as usual, or you can simply – from the same page – search for the add-on and install it directly without having to follow the download and upload processes:
Once the add-on is installed and activated, you are now ready to start using the method of setting different prices within your WooCommerce store.
At this point, you are ready for categorical pricing within your online store, and you can start setting a larger or smaller price for customers who have an account on your site, and these settings now appear on any product page, as follows:
As you can notice from the previous image, the addition increases the Wholesale Prices box for you, or wholesale/discount prices. When you add a price here, this price will appear to all members within the Wholesale Customer rank .
You can notice the appearance of this new rank when you go to the ( Members ) tab and then go to ( Add New ), to notice the appearance of the new rank, and as you can notice, only the owners of this rank will be shown the discounted price that we used on the product page based on add.
For example, if we now access the product page on the store normally, we will find that the product is sold at a price of 1,000 Egyptian pounds, which is the normal price:
The perfect way to use the extension
What we have found up to this point is that any user in the Wholesale Customer category will be able to purchase the product at the price listed on the product page, which is of course the sale price.
Therefore, the ideal way to use this add-on is to change the label of the users who want to be targeted with discounts and convert it to Wholesale Customer and then tell them through one of the marketing channels that they have discounts on the specific products.
How to make discounts available to any user who registers an account
We understand that any user who holds the Wholesale Customer rank will be able to purchase at the discount shown on the product page, so the easiest way to make all members registered in the store have access to the same discounts is to make any new member hold this rank by default.
This is done by going to the settings within the WordPress control panel, then going to the general settings, and from there we determine the rank of any new member to be Wholesale Customer.
Change the name of the user category
You can change the name of the category of users for whom you set a specific price, instead of relying on the name Wholesale Customer that comes by default with the add-on, by following these steps:
- Go to WooCommerce settings
- Go to the Wholesale Roles section of the extension
- Edit the name by clicking Edit, as well as the description
It should be noted that the WooCommerce Wholesale Suite add-on is essentially a paid add-on, and the aforementioned features are features that can be used and accessed for free.
But there are other features that require the user to purchase the add-on, including prohibiting the display of the product page except for members within the category only, or preventing the addition of new categories of users in addition to the default Wholesale Customer category. Perhaps one of the most important features missing in the free version is making the product subject to The discount is only valid when the user purchases a large number of them, which is the main purpose of wholesale.
But by relying on the add-on in its free version, we can at least achieve the main goal, which is to sell the product at more than one price based on the user category.
Control the pricing process via the add-on settings
Despite the limited uses of the add-on in light of the reliance on the free version of it, there are still many modifications that can be implemented through the add-on settings itself. Of course, if you find benefit in using the add-on, you can purchase it later.
You can start adjusting the add-on settings by going to your site’s control panel, then going to WooCommerce settings, and from there go to the add-on settings itself, as in the following image:
We notice that two main settings appear on this page under the umbrella of General Settings . The first setting, called Allow Usage Tracking , allows you to allow or not allow the extension to collect usage data for the purpose of improvement, and we recommend against that.
As for the second option, which is Disable Coupons For Wholesale Users, it is considered one of the very useful options. It simply allows you to prevent the use of purchase vouchers – that is, coupons – in light of the use of the discounted price, and you must pay close attention to this option.
Then, when you go to the pricing options, by clicking on the Price section, a number of additional options will appear in front of you, as in the following image:
- Wholesale Price Text : This option allows you to change the text mentioned next to the discounted price. Here you can use text such as “discounted price,” “offer for premium shoppers,” or similar.
- Hide Retail Price : When adding the discounted price, the original price appears crossed out and next to it is the price after the discount. As you can infer, this option allows you to hide the crossed out price. Of course, we do not recommend this except for specific uses, since the appearance of the original price next to the discounted price may cause User to purchase.
- Hide Wholesale Price on Admin Product Listing : This option is a customization option for you as the store manager, and it allows you to hide the discounted price within the control panel.
- Hide Price and Add to Cart button : This useful option allows you to hide the price and add to cart from any user browsing the store without creating or logging in to an account.
- Price and Add to Cart Replacement Message : Within this field you can add the text that will appear instead of the price and add to the shopping cart. Of course, here you must add text such as: “Register your account within the store to be able to purchase and obtain offers and discounts.”
- Show Wholesale Price to non-wholesale users option: This option allows you to show the discounted price – or wholesale price – to users who are not among your target users. You can use this option to push users to buy for future offers, or let your imagination run wild.

Providing a discount for a distinct category of users
Now, in order to start setting a specific price for a specific category of users, our first step is to go to the add-on settings.
Within the add-on settings, we go to the Manage User Role option to control user roles, and through it we add the distinguished category, which is “Distinctive Buyer” in this case.
Now we go back to the settings again, and then we go to the Individual Product Adjustment box, through which we modify the product individually based on the user category, which in this case is the distinguished user, and what we have to do at this stage is just add the user and then save the changes.
Now, returning to the product modification page, or the new product addition page, we find the add-on options that allow us to set the price for the specific category, which is the “Distinguished Buyer” category, but the name does not appear completely due to the differences in the Arabic and English languages within the add-on control panel:
From the same area within the control panel, we can go to the “Role-Based Settings” option, which began to appear after installing the add-on, and when we click on it, a number of options related to unregistered store visitors appear:
These options allow removing the add to cart button, as well as blocking and hiding prices, in addition to many other options. You can start trying it little by little until you reach the perfect combination for your online store, but of course we recommend using the two additions at the same time carefully so that there is no interference between their tasks.

Use the ELEX plugin as another alternative
We can point out the ELEX add-on , which comes as an excellent alternative to the previously mentioned add-on, and also allows various other works to be done, and we summarize them for you as follows:
- Delete or replace the add to cart button
- Hide product prices for visitors or specific users
- Redirecting the product page to an external page (important in affiliate selling)
- Freely set the price for each user category
- Modifying the price of individual products for a specific category or rank of store users
- Various other additions
There is no doubt that the add-on is worth trying, especially if it is combined with the previous add-on in order to replace each other, given that the ELEX add-on also includes paid features.
When you go to your WordPress/WooCommerce site’s control panel and then go to the ELEX plugin settings, a large number of options appear to you.
Within the settings, we notice the Role-Based Settings, which are the main settings, which we modified in the previous step, and next to them are the Unregistered Users settings, which concern visitors who do not have accounts on the store, and finally the Manage User Role options, through which we added a new category of users and controlled them. .
Looking at the options in the first section, Role-Based Settings, we find that the most important are the following options:
- Remove Add to Cart : This is the option that deletes the “Add to Cart” button.
- Placeholder Content : This option allows you to add alternative text when the “Add to Cart” button is removed just like the previous one
- Change Button Text : This option allows you to change the name of the button on the product page, that is, the text that appears on the button
- Hide Regular Price / Hide Price : These options allow you to hide the price
- Individual Product Adjustment : The option to specify distinct categories, which we chose previously
- Users With Multiple Roles Assigned : This option allows you to choose the correct action for members who have more than one rank, for example: Featured Buyer and Wholesale Customer.
