(This prevents the discount from being applied twice when added as related products to other main products.)

2-Default Products

Through this option, you can specify the default products that are displayed as recommendations after a main product, as follows:

  • Upsell , i.e. sales promotion products, are products or services that offer the user products that are more profitable than the current product and are linked with mentioning features to encourage him to buy.
  • related products : Related products. 
  • upsells/ related products , i.e. displaying related products and upsell products together.  
  • None : When you select this option, then if no product type is displayed in the Bough Together tab while adding product data, then the default product list will be displayed. 

3- Place to display related products (Position)

You can select the place or location to display related products from this option.

  • Above add to cart button: Above the add to cart button.
  • Under add to cart button.
  • Under the excerpt : Under the product title.
  • Under the price : Under the product price.
  • Under the excerpt .
  • Under summary
  • None (hidden from view).

4 -Layout

With this option you can change the display layout of related items that are displayed with the product. 

5- Add to cart button

This option is specific to the add button to the shopping cart and enables you to specify whether you want it to remain the main product ‘s button or leave it in a default form as a separate button ( Default ).

6- Exclude unpurchasable products.

If you choose (Yes) from the drop-down list, any items that are not in stock will automatically be removed from the list of items purchased together. If you choose (No), the items that are not available in stock will remain visible and the customer will not be able to add them to the shopping cart.

Warning: You must make sure to exclude products that are not purchasable by choosing the (Yes) option here, because if you choose (No), the products that are out of stock will appear to be visible to customers, which will cause some disturbances in your store.

The remaining set of options represent options to customize the display of the list of related products, which are:

7- Show thumbnail : This option shows whether you want to display the thumbnail for items purchased together or not

8- Show price: This option allows you to control the display form of the price to display the unit price for each item in the list of products that are purchased together. If you choose not to display the price, the prices for these items will be hidden.

9- Show the short description:  Choose (Yes) from the drop-down list to show the title and short description for each item purchased with the main product, and choose (No) to display the titles only.

10- Show plus/minus buttons: When you enable the Custom quantity option in the Bought Together tab when setting up the product in your store, as we will explain in the next paragraph, and then choose ( Yes ) from this drop-down list, then the plus and minus buttons will be displayed. -/+ to enter the quantity of products required.

When custom quantity is disabled, the extension will display Total Price = (Unit Price x Default Quantity) for each product.

If custom quantity is enabled, the total for each product will be updated accordingly when there is any change in quantity.

11- Contrast limiter: It is better to leave the option at the default setting, as the add-on provides two types of contrast limiters

  • Default: There will be a drop-down list for each variable product attribute that was added as items purchased together.
  • Use WPC Variations Radio Buttons : You need to install the WPC Variations Radio Buttons plugin first, then choose this option. Then an interface corresponding to each product variant will be displayed in the form of radio buttons within the product data section.

12- Specify the method of opening the link for the individual product : Select one of the following options: 

  • Yes, open in the same tab: In this case when clicking on the title of each product, visitors will be redirected to its individual product page.
  • Yes, open in the new tab:  In this case when you click on each product title, a new tab will open to display the product page.
  • Yes, open quick view popup:  In this case when users need to install  WPC Smart Quick View plugin first, then when they click on the product title, a pop-up window will appear that quickly displays the product details.
  • No : In this case visitors cannot click on the product title to view the individual product page for each item in the related product list. 

13-Change the image: Through this menu you can control changing the image by choosing an item from the (Bought Together) list , and its thumbnail image will replace the image of the main product.

14- The option to control price changes : If you choose from this drop-down list (Yes), the price will be automatically updated to reflect changes in the price or quantity of the selected items. If you choose (NO), the prices will remain the same despite any changes.

15- Counter: Through this option you can specify whether you want to count the quantity of the products that the customer has chosen, or how many of these products and display them in the text of the Add to Cart button by selecting one of the following options:

  • Count the individual products
  • Count the product quantities
  • Do not display any numbers or quantities ( None )

Note: The add-on will automatically calculate prices for related products or that are purchased together based on customers’ previous purchases, as it will display the related products automatically. As for calculating prices, it will calculate the current prices of the products, and if there are discounts on the related products, they will not be discounted. Twice the price.


Set up related products in your store

Now that you have set up the add-on in a way that suits you, as we explained in the previous paragraph, you can now, every time you add or modify a product in your WooCommerce store, add some products related to it with the ability to set a new price for them if you wish, as follows.

Go to the Products tab from the sidebar of the WooCommerce Store panel, click on All Products , edit the product with which you want to display a group of purchased products (the product here is considered the main product), then follow these steps: 

1- Go to the bottom, to the Product Data section and scroll down and you will notice that a Bought Together tab has been added dedicated to adding a list of products that are purchased with this main product.

Click on this tab and select related products by entering the name of the target product in the search field to associate it as a suggested product for purchase with this product.

2 – You can also specify the discount that you want to apply to the product (for example, enter the rate of 45% if you want a 55% discount, or leave it as it is if you do not want to apply a discount, or enter the new discount price, for example, 40 for the product whose original price was 50). 

3 – In the default case, when the primary product is deleted from the shopping cart, the accompanying product associated with it will be deleted. But you can activate the Add Separately option to add separately.
In this case the selected product will be added separately from the main product. Even if you delete the main product from the shopping cart, the product added as a linked product will not be deleted.

4 – You can also apply discounts on the basic product through the discount field .

5 – When you activate the Checked all option , discounts on the product will be activated when selecting the relevant items that are purchased with the item. 

Note :  When you put a percentage discount in the Discount field, no discount will be applied to the main product on the front end when the Add Separately option is enabled.

6 – You can also allow the customer to specify the number of products that can be purchased (allowing to increase the quantity of products), or specify setting the minimum and maximum number of products added to restrict the quantity of products that you want to allow him to choose. Such as allowing him to make a one-time purchase of related products or increase the quantity to a specific number if you wish.

7 – Finally, the Above text box enables you to specify the message that you want to display to customers above the relevant products entry area, and it must be a message that encourages and urges them to make a purchase.

After completing all the settings, click Refresh the page of the product you edited and then click View page to show the list of products that customers purchase with this product.
